For years, my parents were afraid I was a lesbian after years of not bringing a guy home. They didn't realize that being in your 20s is about fun, fashion and food! There was no room for men with a Napoleon complex, and that's what I attracted. 5'2' men with HUGE egos. No thanks.
I met my husband at a bar while sporting a ponytail and makeup-less face. It was your normal love at first sight... I set my sights on him and he ignored me. (He's a little on the shy side. And he's 6'4"!) Luckily he stopped me as I was making a dramatic exit and the rest as they say.. is history.
We were married on a beautiful beach in Mexico earlier this year, surrounded by friends and family. To say marriage is bliss would be an understatement. If I had known marriage was this amazing, I would have done it a long time ago. ;)
One of the ways we stay connected is over dinner each evening. No TV, no distractions, just he and I around our table really talking. He's not a picky eater and happily finishes whatever I put on his plate.
We live in Wake Forest, North Carolina with our 100 lb Fawn Doberman, Parker (a rescue).
